Preparations have begun in right earnest for the forthcoming Buddha Mahotsava, scheduled to be held on the January 11 and 12, 2003. Though the Mahotsava is being held for the fifth time, coming event is of special significance as it would be the first major celebration after the inclusion of the Mahabodhi Temple in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites. The shrine was included in the world cultural body's prestigious list in 27th June this year.
